Why Testing Comes First: Building the Engine This Off-Season
Every spring I hear the same question from parents: how do we make sure this season is better than the last one? My answer is always the same. It starts with numbers, and it starts in the off-season.
You can't build what you don't measure
Speed, strength and rotational power are the engine behind every throw, swing and sprint. Most athletes train hard all winter without knowing which part of their engine is holding them back. Testing tells us exactly where the biggest gains are waiting.
What we test
Sprint speed over 10, 30 and 60 yards
Vertical and broad jump for lower-body power
Rotational power with the medicine ball
Bat speed and exit velocity for hitters
Arm velocity for throwers and catchers
Why the off-season matters
The months between seasons are when real change happens. There are no games to recover from, so athletes can build strength and speed that carry into the spring. Test now, train with a plan, and retest in eight weeks to see the progress.
Join us for Testing Saturday
Our next Athlete Testing Saturday is December 12 from 9 to 11 AM at The Facility in Parkesburg. Every athlete leaves with their numbers and a training plan. Spots are limited to 20 athletes, and registration is open on our events page.
Let's build the engine.
